This page contains the code and corresponding documentation for the DISCOS Tool, the JXTA Network Module and the client aspect of the Interactive Help Desk.

P2P Application Framework Downloads (Beta Version 0.1 - 17/3/04)

The P2P Application Framework is an ongoing development. A beta release of the standard (client peer) aspect is now available to download. The focus at the moment is to test the Framework and increase its overall stability. As a result, for now, it will only be supported locally. However, it is still possible to develop and test plugins with it, and any feedback would be appreciated. 

The framework needs Java 1.4.1 or later in order to run, and has only been tested on Windows PC's. Support for other operating systems is something that is being considered for the future.

• Self-extracting installation for the P2P Application Framework (including the Instant Messenger, File Sharing, Network Mood and 0's and X's plugins)
• Zip file containing the Distributed Paper Database Plugin (to be made available shortly)
• Zip file containing the Distributed Video Encoder Plugin (to be made available shortly)
• Zip file containing the Example Plugin

To launch the P2P Application framework, double click on the 'Launch Framework' file.
To install new plugins, unzip the plugin and drop the directory into the 'Plugins' directory within the Application Framework directory.

To launch the DISCOS Tool, unzip the directory and then double click on the file p2p.mdb

JXTA Network Module Downloads (Version 1.2 - 30/1/04)

Interactive Help Desk Software Downloads

The Interactive Help Desk is still being developed. A beta version of the client is now available for download.

JTella Downloads (01/09/04)

The JTella base classes  are now available to download and improvement. They are no longer directly supported by this group. The framework needs Java 1.4.1 or later in order to run, and should run on most Java platforms.
